Adult Ministry & Education

The Adult Education Ministry provides opportunities to learn about living the Christian life. It works to sustain and grow an active learning community in which adults take responsibility for learning together about subjects important in their lives. We provide opportunities for both peer-to-peer learning and clergy- or expert-guided exploration.

Recent topics of exploration have included faith in the public square, closing racial divides in our community, Christian worship traditions, practices for spiritual growth, and the gospel of St. Luke. These offerings reflect the diversity and depth of lay expertise in our parish and the commitment of our staff to adult education.

The main venue for our offerings is the Adult Forum, held each Sunday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. -- between our two English-language worship services. From time to time, adult education offerings are scheduled during the week, both in the evenings and during the day. These have recently included discussion of Luke’s gospels, book discussions in the Women’s Spirituality Group, and occasional movie nights that include dinner and a feature film on a religious topic. Discussions of the Acts of the Apostles are set to begin on Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30.
